ALL THE
GOOD MAKERS
YORKSHIRE
The Why
Remember Covid times when your social feeds were full of people who turned hobbies into businesses?
From kitchen tables and garden sheds?
So many amazing cottage businesses had thrived during that time, but once things opened up and people were heading back out, it was clear to Karen that the makers would struggle.
So she created the makers collective.
It’s a space for small businesses to have a presence on the shelves between craft fairs, a bit like a well-stocked store cupboard where their work can still be discovered and, importantly, still sell.
We keep our collective as fair and supportive, with no upfront costs, or obligations to work in the shop.
We only take a small commission when something sells, and it’s much lower than typical wholesale rates, because the whole point is we help makers, not squeeze them.
When we have happy makers, we get happy customers.
Win win really.
The Who
We now have almost 50 makers in our collective from candle makers, to potters, jewellers, florists, felters and artists.

FOCUS ON
Yorkshire Born Lass
I’m Sarah, the face behind Yorkshire Born Lass. I trained & still work in the fashion industry, but now my painting & doodling hobby has grown into a little expanding business.
My journey began in 2019 with a New Years resolution to pick up pencils & join a life drawing class.
My prints, cards, bags & other merchandise are based on my own original artwork which I produce in Wakefield. I’m lover of plants & nature; however, I also like to incorporate a little humour into some of her work with a cheeky play on words, this clearly shows in some of my artwork.
